Guide to 4th of July in 2020


The 4th of July this year is looking a little bit differently, so we want to still celebrate in the way that is best for you and your family! Please, seek current information regarding COVID and the locations protocols. 

July 3rd & July 4thFireworks On The Lake at Nathan Benderson Park. The popular 4th of July of even at Benderson is still, but it is looking a little different this year. This is will be a drive-in event with social distancing; a great opportunity to still enjoy the fireworks show and follow CDC guidelines. TICKETS will be $15 per vehicle, and will be available beginning in the afternoon on June 24; we believe they will sell out quickly. Therefore, on July 4th, as part of an Independence Day special on ABC 7, WWSB the fireworks will be televised!

July 2nd to 5thSun n Fun Fourth of July Weekend. Celebrate America’s Birthday with the people who know how to party best! Live music, drink specials, family fun & more! Per the website: Events subject to change. All activities weather permitting.

July 4th The Westin Sarasota Fourth of July BBQ. Dine-In or Take it To-Go! The event last from 3-8 PM, including BBQ Chien, Baby Back Ribs, and cornbread. Choose a variety of traditional sides to accompany your meal and enjoy a dessert. $60 per guest. For any questions, please call 941.217.4777. Per the website: For your health and safety, we will be observing all local and recommended CDC guidelines and protocols for seating and food preparation. Dine-in capacities are limited. Pre-order tickets recommended.

July 4th – North Port Freedom Fireworks. The City of North Port is providing a special drive-in fireworks-only event and an option to join via a Livestream on their Facebook page. Parking will be allowed at North Port High School, Heron Creek Middle School, and Butler Park. Per the website, there are very specific guidelines they will be following, be sure to stay in the loop here.

July 4th to 5thSarasota Jungle Gardens. One adult same-day admission, get one (equal or lesser value) 1/2 off. Per the website: Clean facilities, frequently sanitized commonly touched areas and restrooms, many hand sanitizer stations throughout the park, announcements and signage reminding folks about social distancing, capacity limited to 50% in the park, in our gift shop and cafe at any one time. 

July 5thA Patriotic Celebration with the Jazz DaddyOs. A special outdoor concert to celebrate the birth of our nation. A family-friendly event. Bring your own chair, no admission charge, free parking, AND free ice cream! *Note: Sarasota, Siesta Key, Venice, and Bradenton have canceled their Firework Shows.
